Morning Skin Routine + 5 Min Face

morning skincare routine luxury beauty

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday!

Today, I'm so excited to finally share my current morning skincare routine with you. I'm also going to share with you how I get that glowy 'no makeup' makeup in 5 minutes or less. Having the right skincare and skin prep is going to make a huge difference in the way your makeup goes on and whether or not it will stay. This is a great everyday look for work or just running around when you want more coverage. This makeup look is also so easy to build onto so that it suits your personal style and preferences.

STEP ONE: Cleanse. I wash my face twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Even if I'm not wearing makeup that day, I still wash in the evening. This should be pretty standard practice, but I know it's hard sometimes. But once you get into your routine, it will be much easier! It also helps having products that make a difference so you feel like you're making a difference with all your hard work. This morning I used one of my tried-and-true cleansers by Kate Somerville. It is a gentle exfoliating cleanser that leaves my skin squeaky clean without feeling like sandpaper.

STEP TWO: Tone. This toner has been in routine for years, so I'm a big fan. It's a hydrating toner that softens your skin and removes impurities so it's a great way to prep your skin for skincare products because you're working with a more pure canvas, so to speak.

STEP THREE: Face oil. There is a common misconception that face oil is 'too heavy.' If you're using the correct facial oil (or serums), then they should carry a lot of benefits for you. A good facial oil should work with your natural oils and bring out your inner glow. I personally love the benefits I've gotten from a quality Marula oil. A little goes a long way, so your product should last awhile. I have two that I use. The one by Drunk Elephant I've used for a little over year now and I love it. I got it at Sephora as a sample with and it was paired with this facial that I swear by. Now that I've used both, I can't have one without the other. The other one I like is by a brand I've just started using about 6 months ago, called The Ordinary. This brand is super affordable so it's a great option for any budget and still delivers great results.

STEP FOUR: Eye Cream. I love a good eye cream and I have two that I am currently loving. This hydrating one by Bobbi Brown has been in my arsenal for a long time and it's here to stay. The name says it all. It is super hydrating but doesn't sit on top of the skin so it's great for under makeup, or by itself and for a nighttime eye cream. I also love this one by Tarte. It's my go-to for under makeup. And I swear it helps with the creasing under concealer.

STEP FIVE: Hydrating serum or moisturizer. Today I used the Dr. Dennis Gross firming peptide milk. This is more of a treatment, serum and moisturizer all in one. But honestly, 8 times out of 10, I use the lactic acid treatment called good genes by Sunday Riley. But unfortunately, I'm out and my new one isn't in yet so not today. This is a magic serum that I know has transformed the texture of my skin and helped with discoloration. It's a little pricey but well worth the investment!

I've been using this moisturizer by Fresh for awhile now and I love the moisture it provides without feeling like I just slapped pudding all over my face. I know you know what I'm talking about!

Now, let's do makeup!

STEP ONE: Tinted moisturizer. I've been using this Bobbi Brown BB cream for awhile. It's a light to medium coverage and has SPF 35 so it's great for a light makeup day, and great for summer wear when you don't need a really heavy makeup. I also love this one by NARS because it has good coverage with SPF 30, and gives your skin a nice glow!

STEP TWO: Powder. Bronzer. Blush. My all-time favorite setting powder is this translucent powder by Laura Mercier. I fell in love with it and have yet to find another one as good. I used a new bronzer/blush duo today and I LOVE IT! Bonus: it's only $24! I know, right?! This duo is so pretty, and I was presently surprised by the color payoff. It's a new favorite for sure!

STEP THREE: Mascara. This Lancome mascara has been in my makeup bag for a couple years now and I still love it. I like long, fluffy lashes and get that result from this one. I also like to put this primer on first if I'm going for a heavier lash. And I always curl my lashes first with a quality lash curler.

STEP FOUR: Brows. Brows are like a frame for your face and in my opinion, a VIP in your makeup bag of tricks so you want a good one. I like to use this tinted brow gel by Benefit. It's an all in one brow product and so easy to use.

STEP FIVE: Lips. Moisture and/or color for your lips is like icing on the cake! Don't forget your lip! This chapstick is one of my favorites. And this Dior gloss is an absolute go-to.

I hope this was helpful for you! I had so much fun putting this all together for y'all. Click here to see a full video of how I like to apply all of these amazing products. Thanks for reading!

xoxo,
